As we welcome in a brand new year, what better way to celebrate the start of 2018 than looking back at the best of 2017’s home interior trends.
We have seen some beautiful developments in walls, floors, homewares and furniture! We’ve also fallen in love with trends that have taken homes across the UK by storm.
In paint we have seen blush, blues and watercolours dominate homes. Dark walled interiors have also raced ahead.
2017 has been another year of peacock teals, so we are hopeful they are here to stay! It’s been a wonderful year for metallics too with rose gold, brass and our personal favourite, stunning gold taking off in every direction in all rooms of the home. This gorgeous cushion happily combines both trends.

Marble has been key, not just for kitchen worktops but table tops, home accessories and even bedding.
Marble Board Serveware, Aldi £9.99
Concrete has also continued to grow in popularity from flooring to home accessories – man-made is all the rage!

Velvet, whilst making its big debut in 2016 has almighty staying power, so we have seen an even bigger rise in 2017 in plush loveseats, chaise and sofas.
Botanicals have maintained their presence with palm leaves leading the way.

Indoor gardens have also flourished with a cult following of urban junglers around the globe. As part of these blossoming trends no home has been complete without a cactus, hanging plant or terrarium!
Mixology has always been an interior staple, but 2017 has been the year of the bar cart. These gorgeous moving trays have paved the way for trendy home-bar accessories like metallic topped wine glasses and (must have) pineapple cocktail shakers.
Finally peg boards and light boxes need a mention! Do you even love your home if you don’t have a personalised message displayed somewhere?
All in all we can agree 2017 has been a fantastic year of interior highlights… and I’m so excited for what 2018 has in store!
But first it’s time to finish off the year in style. So at the strike of midnight I will be drinking cocktails in my velvet chair, from a gold rimmed martini glass, made on my bar cart, bathed in light from my neon cactus lamp!
