Make a statement

The statement armchair is a home décor staple that can fit into any interior scheme.  Available in thousands of shapes, sizes, colours and fabrics, the hunt for the ideal home throne can be endless as new, exquisite examples are launched every season.

When you finally find ‘the one’, there is the temptation to place it in the corner of your room and just stare in wonderment, but there are some great ways to style your armchair and make it functional as well as beautiful.

Here are some of our suggestions:

Create a room focal point

For a truly luxurious finish, you can’t get much better than velvet.  Dramatic, eye catching and downright swoon-worthy this type of chair is the ultimate investment piece.

Boxset and chill

A comfy armchair, well positioned can be the ideal spot to sit and snuggle in.  Loveseats give you that little extra wiggle room, so the fluffy sock clad tootsies tuck up too!

Gently place that ‘stand out’ throw over one of the arms for good measure (plus it’s in arms reach for those chilly evenings).

Style a cosy reading nook

Sometimes you just want a quiet corner to chill in with a good book and a cuppa.  Create a mini reading haven in an alcove by fitting floating corner shelves, making your space not just for storage but also a handy side table and book shelf in one.
